Great track and video from Irish post-punk outfit Slow Riot. Demons is taken from their forthcoming Cathedral EP, due out on October 23 on Straight Lines Are Fine. I'm revelling in the dark and moody sound of this and can't wait to hear more... Autumn appears to be upon us.

Video / Download: Bones - Young Karin
Bones is a fantastic new track and video from Icelandic art-pop act Young Karin. Young Karin were formed back in 2013 when Karin Sveinsdóttir met Logi Pedro Stefánsson at an Icelandic talent show. Having released their debut EP N1 on Pannonica in 2014 the band have recently unleashed new EP PYK as a free download. Bones is the lead track from that release and you can check out the video below. I can't get enough of this track and can't recommend it higher:
Video: Civil War - MIYNT
Stockholm artists MIYNT has just unveiled the video for her sultry debut single Civil War. Taking the vocal stylings of Banks and applying it to some bone-rattling bass, Civil War hits like a wall of sound. The video and song play with the concept of waves, an analogy to the shifting power and rhythmic cycle of love.
Civil War / Nick Drake is out on B3SCI Records on 21 August, available for pre-order on 7" or through iTunes here. Check out the video for Civil War below, or stream both tracks from the forthcoming single together with MIYNT's stunning cover of Britney Spears' Baby One More Time.
Video: I Will Wait - Karl Kling
I Will Wait is the new 80s-influenced electro-dream-pop song from Portland-based musician Karl Kling. The accompanying video is inspired by David Lynch and this translates into a surreal, dream--like quality in keeping with the record itself. The deadpan vocal delivery on the verse serves to heighten the impact of the melodic chorus once it hits, and I can't help but love the fuzzy sleepy heart of this record.
I Will Wait is taken from Karl Kling's eponymous debut album, out now via Ghost Beach's Crazy Heart Records. Listen in full-via Spotify below.
Video: Dimed Out - Titus Andronicus
Titus Andronica's last UK-released album The Monitor was one of my absolute favourite things about 2010. In fact just last week I went back to check if they had released anything since and was dismayed to see they hadn't.
Well it turns out my concerns that they may have disappeared were misplaced. Titus Andronicus return! With a new album called The Most Lamentable Tradgedy! And this awesome new track and lyric video Dimed Out!
As always their ramshackle mess of noise is a beer-soaked anger-fuelled mess and it's bloody glorious. In the UK we're about to head into the most contentious and unpredictable election of my lifetime, and every note of this record expresses the anger and annoyance I feel about every stupid idiot who wastes their vote, makes a decision based on a newspaper headline or fails to understand at least a fraction of the actual policy differences between the major party policies.
So here it is: One of the major parties wants to save $12bn from the welfare budget yet refuses to tell the nation how until after the election is over. If you vote without knowing what you are voting for, you are a fucking idiot.
You can thank Titus Andronicus for this angry rant, and yes I am aware of the irony in advocating voting in a post about a band that sports the anarchy symbol. So whatever... Scroll to the video, play it, then play it again. Then play it once more to be sure. Then vote wisely.
